HI I use fluvel and I put course sponge in the bottom basket a thin finer sponge in the middle basket with charcoal on top of it and bio rings in the top basket with filter floss on top of them to polish the water befor it returns. I use water from my tank in a 5 gal pail and rinse all my sponges and rings when I clean my filters.
