WebEs befindet sich in der nördlichen Region nahe der tschadischen Grenze und wurde 1932 als Naturschutzgebiet angelegt und 1968 wurde es zum Nationalpark erklärt. Es erstreckt sich über eine Fläche von 220.000 ha und ist Teil des Schutzgebietskomplexes der Norden mit den Bénoué und Faro Nationalparks.
